Telangana High Court has issued an interim order directing Megastar Chiranjeevi not to undertake any construction on the land purchased from the Jubilee Hills Housing Society. Telangana High Court ordered to maintain status quo in disputed land. A petition filed by society members Srikanth Babu, M Prabhakar Rao and others said the society sold it for Rs 3.83 crores while the market value was Rs 20 crores.
Further, they said that the society had no authority over it as it was public land and vested with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Jampala Srikanth Babu and others approached the High Court alleging that Jubilee Hills Society had sold 595 square yards of land intended for commercial use to Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy fame star Chiranjeevi.
The petitioners alleged that since GHMC- the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation did not have control over the land, the society violated the rules and sold it to megastar Chiranjeevi.
Appraising the High Court that construction was underway, he sought orders to stop activity and also restrictions not to further alienate property.
After hearing the arguments, the High Court bench directed GHMC and Jubilee Hills Housing Society to file counter affidavits and adjourned the next hearing to 25th April.
