Bollywood senior actor and director Satish Kaushik has passed away at 66 at his residence in Mumbai after suffering from a heart attack. Actor Anupam Kher, the friend of the late filmmaker, confirmed the news officially on Twitter. Satish Kaushik passed away on Thursday due to a heart attack. He has done more than a hundred films as an actor in his 3 decades of film journey. He directed many successful films as a director.
Recently he celebrated Holi with the lyricist Javed Akhtar, Richa Chadha, Shabana Azmi, and others. His career as a director started with Roop Ki Rani Choronka Raja starring Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi. He also made his debut as an actor in the same year.
He was also a comedian, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work for the movies Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Prem, Tere Naam and Kaagaz. He also penned the lyrics for Jane Bee Do Arrow helmed by Kundansha.
Many celebrities including Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher, and Madhur Bhandarkar expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the late filmmaker.
In a long journey, Satish Kaushik has directed more than 15 films. It is noteworthy that most of them are remake films except one or two.
