Director SS Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR made history on Monday morning as it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song Naatu Naatu that features Young Tiger Jr NTR and Mega Power Star Ram Charan, is composed by MM Keeravani and sung by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. The song “Naatu Naatu” became the first song from an Indian film to win the honour. In his speech, the music director Keeravani sang an ode to Rajamouli and India.
Now according to the latest report, the Telangana government has decided to felicitate the entire team of RRR for making history at the Oscars. The team of RRR is still in the USA and the reports are coming that the team will return to Hyderabad very soon.
RRR’ Naatu Naatu beat a slate of heavy-weight competitors – Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All At Once, Rihanna’s Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Applause from Tell It Like A Woman.
Another Indian film – The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short Subject. All That Breathes was also nominated for the Best Documentary Feature Film but the Oscar went to Navalny.
